Project ISHA

Client: NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JEWISH WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA

Year: 2022

Role: Art Director, Designer

Project Link: View

This project involved designing a 32-page booklet and supporting visuals for “Isha,” an exhibition celebrating 100 years of influential women in the Australian Jewish community, hosted by the National Council of Jewish Women of Australia (NCJWA). Collaborating with Vicky Finklestein of The Finklestein Files, I crafted a design that echoed the exhibition’s themes of heritage, empowerment, and connection.

Geometric Harmony and Timeless Typography

To visually represent the interweaving stories and shared experiences of women across generations, I chose a design language rooted in geometric shapes. These shapes, when combined, form a tapestry that symbolizes the interconnectedness of lives and legacies. The gentle colour tones I selected evoke a sense of warmth and nostalgia, creating an inviting atmosphere for viewers to explore the exhibition’s content.

The ARP typeface, with its distinctive strokes and elegant forms, was chosen as the primary font. Its classic yet modern feel beautifully captures the essence of the past, present, and future that the NCJWA embodies, making it a fitting choice for a project that celebrates the organisation’s rich history and ongoing impact.
